A physical altercation reportedly broke out between the security personnel of both leaders.
A political flashpoint unfolded in Uttar Pradesh’s Mahoba district on Friday after state minister Swatantra Dev Singh was allegedly bogged down by MLA Brijbhushan Singh and taken to the district collectorate.

A physical altercation reportedly broke out between the security personnel of both leaders.
The incident triggered a tense situation at the collectorate premises.
Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh was in Mahoba to attend a program organised by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). As he was leaving the event, BJP MLA from Charkhari, Brijbhushan Singh, reportedly tried to stop him, urging the minister to meet with sarpanchs from villages where water supply was not ensured under the Jal Jeevan Mission.
The request led to a tense altercation between the minister’s personal assistant and the MLA. Following the confrontation, both BJP leaders proceeded to the collectorate, creating a high-voltage situation. Authorities have barricaded the collectorate premises to prevent public entry.
Since the incident, both leaders have remained incommunicado.
