Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) is building one of the world’s largest integrated renewable energy hubs — the Dhirubhai Ambani Green Energy Giga Complex in Jamnagar, Gujarat. Spanning 44 million square feet, the project reflects Mukesh Ambani’s ambitious vision to make India a global leader in clean energy.
The complex will consume over 7 lakh tonnes of steel in construction — nearly eight times the steel used in the Eiffel Tower. This sheer scale underscores Reliance’s determination to develop a future-ready energy infrastructure capable of driving India’s transition toward net-zero emissions by 2035.
At its core, the complex will house four giga factories for solar modules, advanced batteries, hydrogen electrolyzers, and fuel cells, creating an end-to-end ecosystem for renewable energy. These facilities will produce not just power but also critical green technologies to support India’s clean mobility, industrial decarbonization, and hydrogen economy.
Reliance has committed ₹75,000 crore (around $9 billion) to this initiative, with advanced robotics and AI-enabled systems ensuring efficiency and scale. Once operational, the project will anchor India’s global renewable supply chain, reduce import dependency, and create thousands of jobs — positioning the country as a major exporter of green energy solutions.
